I woke up pretty early this morning and decided to walk to the coffee shop. I saw this guy who was actually having an argument with his dog. The dog was being stuburn and just didn't want to move. The guy was frustrated and said to the dog, "you always do this to me! Whenever I want to go, you never do!" I think I might have even heard him say, "you're not being fair to me!" Anyway, it made me think of how Ruth Bernhard-a pretty great photographer best know for her photographs of women in the nude-tells the story of how she first got into photography. It's a pretty great story and she was an interesting woman and very talented photographer. One of my favorite quotes is from her, "To fall in love with photography is to fall in love with life." I'll leave you with that and I hope you have a nice day!

I have a skylight in my apartment that's incredibly cool. I had the thought today that I don't take enough advantage of it, so I decided to put a stop to that. Then I realized I didn't really know how to take advantage of it. There's really nothing you can do with it except look at it. So that's what I did. I got my book out, The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga (thank you Alden Wood) laid down on the floor under it, read, and listened to the rain. The sound of the rain on the skylight is wonderful and also it's pretty to look at. If you come over to my apartment some day, you can lay under it with me if you want and we can tell each other ghost stories or have a sit-up competition for money, because I need some money...
This is one of the walls in the room we recently had a fire in. I waited at my apartment all day yesterday for the contractor to come to evaluate damage. I kept calling him every hour and he kept saying he was on his way. He never showed up. He did come today a few hours later then he said he would and stayed a total of 3 minutes. Right before he left he made sure to give me a hard time for leaving a space heater on even though I told him I wasn't the one who left it on. I decided he's a prick.
There is this very awesome coffee shop that I can often be found at on weekends (incase anyone's ever looking for me and doesn't want to use their phone for some reason). It's called Knockbox Cafe. It's pretty great according to me. They have this coleslaw that's amazing. It has blue cheese in it! If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, I would very seriously consider choosing this, or maybe mashed potatoes. It's that good. I think it even makes my eyes sparkle, in the good way, not the bad way. Also, the staff says gesundheit when you sneeze. I don't know why I added that last sentence.
