The Hit Back

Want to hear about something cool? Yeah, me too. Well I have something for you that's awesome! Season two of Small Chicago has started and kicking it off is one of my new favorite bands-The Hit Back! I got to shoot stills for this and so that was a fun day. Also Seth and Jesse are a delight to meet and work with. Take a look and listen because it's nice for your eyes and your ears. Milk Products-as with everything else they do-has done a wonderful job. If you ever get a chance to go to a Hit Back show-do it!

OK. So I shared something with you that rules, feel free to share something with me that rules too. I like stuff that rules.

broken skylight

So we have a neat skylight in our apartment which I have blogged about once in the past-see. Or I guess you could look at the top of my blog, that's the same picture. We had a crazy hail storm last night and it broke our skylight. That sucks a little bit.

Portrait # 2-Emily Kull

This is a my friend Emily Kull. I've know her since we were kids but haven't seen her in many years. I got to hang out with her a few weeks ago here in Chicago when she came up for a week to take one of those week intensive Second City writing class. People can change a lot in 10 years, as we both have, but one of the things that had not changed is when the two of us hang out-it's pretty much contsant laughing the entiere time. She's a very funny gal with what I would describe as an insane amount of energy. It was a good afternoon, we went to the zoo, a puppy store, and two different coffee shops. Now that I type that out, it sort of sounds like an afternoon planned by 12 year old girls. Emily is a tiny lil' lady and when she came out to meet me she had a backback on that was enormous, basically the same size as her and I'm not sure how she wasn't falling over backwards. Had she wanted to she could have crawled right inside of it-just like a popple. Remember those?!

So yeah, it was a good time and great to see an old friend.

public bathroom

I'm not a big fan of using public bathrooms, most people aren't I suppose, but I like the way a lot of them look-especially when they are a little dirty and gritty. It is sort of odd I guess, because when I'm in them I don't want to touch ANYTHING, but I like to take pictures of them. Maybe it's not that odd. I don't really care. This one was pretty neat! It was in this warehouse that we just did an episode of Small Chicago in. The space itself was great too for the shoot. We also got to ride a freight elevator up! I'm obviously easily pleased.

Oh! Then later, we road it back down. Big day.

this is my face

Yup. That's it right there. I'm having a lame day if it's not obvious.

I decided that I want to donate my hair to cancer. Well, not to cancer, to people with cancer obviously-Locks of Love to be more specific. I think my hair would make a swell wig. The only thing is, they need at least 10 inches. I don't do short hair, it makes me look like Annie. So I have to grow my hair very long first so that when I get 10 inches off, I'll still have at least shoulder-length hair. The good news is that with curly hair, they will let you pull it straight and then measure it, so that will help. Anyway, I'm going to donate it eventually, but I have no idea how long it will take to grow it that long. We'll find out eventually.
